The Christmas season has been fun this year. Cadence is totally into Christmas and Colin's getting there. This weekend we did a bunch of Christmas-y stuff -- we took the kids to the Alum Creek Lake Fantasy of Lights on Saturday night, we decorated cookies on Sunday morning, and then Santa came to visit with the local fire department! Cadence has had fun counting down the days to Christmas with the Advent Calendar Danny's grandma made for us. Colin is obsessed with the Polar Express train that my grandparents sent to us this year. Only 4 more days until Christmas!
The kids had a good time helping us decorate the tree this year. They each claimed their own spot on the tree and kind of stuck all their ornaments in one spot. It was really cute. Colin discovered his reflection in the ornaments. Cadence had to check it out too...
Bubble wrap is always entertaining!
Our friends invited us to their neighborhood appreciation -- they had a great turnout accompanied by popcorn, cookies, and coffee! A neighbor totally decks out his house with lights and Santa was there to see the kids! It was outside, and freezing that day, so we were all bundled up. Colin wasn't quite ready to see Santa on his own this year, but Cadence was a big girl! She got a little shy when Santa asked her what she wanted for Christmas, but she came prepared with her list.
The kids did a great job helping decorate some sugar cookies. Cadence took her time decorating, where Colin would decorate, take a bite, decorate, take a bite... It was too cute!
Our neighbor is a firefighter at the local station -- they let us know that Santa would be making his way down our street yesterday afternoon. The kids were super excited...especially Colin!
Yes, it was pretty cold out this weekend; it's hard to believe it's going to be in the 60s for Christmas this year!
This is how I found them the other morning. I hope they love each other forever!
Cadence has completed her first session in gymnastics! We signed her up for the second 10-week session that starts in January. She likes it a lot!
