Halloween 2022

This year for Halloween, we had a zombie softball player and a S.W.A.T. officer on our hands!

We joined the Marinellis, ahem, a soul taker and Doug from Limu Emu (Liberty Mutual)

Per usual, we had an awesome time in Westerville with our best friends and got a TON of candy.

Oh, and we learned that Scarlet likes the taste of fresh pumpkin...

Pumpkin Carving Fun

Mom and Dad joined us again for our annual pumpkin carving - everyone did a really good job!

Applesauce!!

Usually right before Halloween, the apples start to turn and we have to hurry up and make applesauce before they spoil.  The kids always have a good time helping peel the apples.  They had fun goofing off this year.  We made some pretty dang good applesauce, too!

Cadence had fun taking pictures of Colin while he was hamming it up!

Oh, and this was a different night, but I had to take a picture of Cadence with her foot masks on and send to Grandma for a good laugh!

Sophia's First Birthday

Toward the end of October, Mom, Cadence, and I took a trip to Youngstown to celebrate my cousin's youngest's first birthday!  Michelle moved to Youngstown earlier this year and our schedule allowed for us to attend her party.  Auntie Dianne was there as well - it was great to see everyone and to meet Michelle's 2 youngest kiddos, Dominic and Sophia.  Of course Lilliana was attached to Cadence.

Before the party, we entertained the 2 oldest while Sophia napped and Michelle got primped.

They had a bouncy house - even Mom, Cadence, and I took a turn!

Danny's Trip to Yankee Stadium

In mid-October, Danny had to travel to Philly for work.  It just so happened that the Guardians were playing at Yankee Stadium during that same time.  As someone from Ohio who has been following the Yankees (more so Aaron Judge chasing the home run record) who was within a 2-hour drive, Danny couldn't pass up the opportunity.  He flew to Philly on Monday during the day, rented a car, and made it to Yankee Stadium in time for the game.  Unfortunately, as game time approached, rain moved in.

This was when he first got to the stadium.

While he was waiting out the storm, he strolled through the stadium which had areas that were like a museum.  I never knew Lou Gehrig was such a good lookin' guy! 😉

He sent lots of neat memorabilia photos

Ultimately, they postponed the game to the next day.  Danny drove back to Philly late that night, had his meeting the next day, then drove back to New York for the game!  The Yankees won and it was really neat for Danny to experience the rush of the crowd!

Lots O' Fun & Random Happenings

Every once in a while, I end up with some pictures that don't really fit with other blog post topics - so they end up in their own post!

Colin was so happy he got Scarlet to lay on his leg

Cadence spent a while out on the new hammock on weekend afternoon - she looked adorable out there!

One of the pictures sent to Danny during a work trip

Colin was all over the ball field this fall - pitcher, first base, and catcher mainly!

The second weekend in October, one of Cadence's new teammates had us over their house before one of her fall games as an attempt for the girls and families to get to know one another better.  Her teammate lives in New Albany so it worked out really well.

Cadence got to play first base, too!

The girls pulled out a win!

Cadence and her favorite teammate, Ashlyn.

The next day (coincidentally the same week as the Color Run), we all participated in the Big Nut Strut!  Danny, Cadence, and Dad started out running together, I caught up to Colin, and Momma walked.  We had a good time! I was proud of all of us for finishing.  It had been a long time since I had run (who are we kidding? I jogged) a 5k - but I never stopped to walk!

Veronica Riley snapped videos and pictures of us as we neared the finish line - here's Cadence!

I was so happy to be done!

I left work early one Friday and met Danny and the kids at DBat

What a pretty fall afternoon for some baseball!

Cadence got ready for her friend's birthday party in the car at Colin's game.  It was almost Halloween, so the friends were encouraged to dress up.  Cadence was a zombie softball player.  She did the makeup herself!

Colin received the attitude and effort medal for one of this fall ball games - he was shocked to receive it.  It was so cute.  Keeping a good attitude no matter the score has been a challenge for Colin, so it was nice for him to have this achievement.

Colin helped out the 9u travel team in their tournament one weekend (since he's young enough and they were short players).  Their team played the other Big Walnut 9u team for the first match up, which meant Colin faced his best buddy, William!  Here's Colin up to bat with William pitching.

Cadence and her little kid fan squad 😊
I bet with it being a different team, she thought the little kids would leave her alone.

Goofing around between games

Colin had a good time with the younger boys that day!
