This February has consisted of taekwondo, basketball, cheer leading, Danny starting his new job, Valentine's Day, and other fun random things. Let's start with taekwondo...
About every month and a half, the opportunity rolls around for the kids to test to receive their next belt. This month, the kids ditched their yellow belts for their orange belts. Next will be senior orange belt.
They were psyched about passing and receiving their next belt.
This time around, instead of an official awards ceremony, they had pictures taken, so it was a little hectic. Here's Cadence with some of her buddies.
With the orange belt comes gear for sparring. Here, the kids were putting their gear on for the first time.
Here they are receiving instructions before sparring for the first time. One thing they definitely learned was that there is no sparring between siblings!
I had to fill in for one of the coaches one weekend for cheer - here we sent a group picture to the girls that couldn't make it. Boy, are they a rowdy bunch! It was fun, though.
Danny accepted a new position with Custom Glass Solutions - it's a division that his old company, Guardian, sold off. He'll be helping them with business analysis and expansions. He's really looking forward to this new chapter. During his last week at Ologie, some of his coworkers got together at Dueling Axes as a going away party. He said it was so much fun.
I'm really happy for him and excited to see where this new job takes him!
Next up, is Valentine's Day! We started the day with a pretty sunrise - it shouts, "Valentine's Day", doesn't it?
Danny cut toast and strawberries into the shapes of hearts to go along with the kids' scrambled eggs. What a good daddy, huh? They also got a ton of sugar in the form of candy to go along with their breakfast. They loved it.
I was able to skip out of work to help out with the class Valentine parties. For both classes, I brought materials to play a Cupid's arrow game where you used a straw to blow a Q-tip into a bowl. We had teams with different colored Q-tips to keep track of who could get more "arrows" into the bowl. Both classes had a lot of fun!

She's too cool for pictures with mom anymore. I'm just happy she still lets me help out in class.
Colin's teacher posted pictures of the kids' Valentine boxes. I was happy to have a picture because Colin's got a little smashed on the way home.
Cadence came up with the gumball machine idea all on her own! She also made about 99% of it all by herself! I love her creative little heart.
The novelty of showers have worn off & baths are usually requested at our house - it's more fun to play, right? Both of the kids like to make foam beards.
The kids wore their bathing suits & goggles & played in the Jacuzzi one evening. It usually gets pretty rowdy, so it doesn't happen often.
Colin had a buddy from his basketball team come over to play. I had to snap a picture of them playing Street Fighter. They were into it!
We had a wicked windstorm roll through a couple of weekends ago. Luckily, we didn't lose power, but several of the schools and the administrative office in the district did. That meant no school! I worked from home and Colin greeted me in the office with his "skates" - they're wheels from LEGOs under his feet.
I'm not sure what this is...
They also spent some time painting.
Scarlet always gets harassed when they're home.
Last week at school was Read Across America Spirit Week. One day was wear your class color - 3rd grade had green / kindergarten had red.

This fun week always corresponds with Dr. Seuss' birthday! His teacher's last name sounds like Minion, so that's always a theme in her class.
