While Dad's Away, the Mice Will Play

Danny's been traveling to LA for work.  He's usually gone all week, so I amass several goofy pictures of the kids that I send to him to say, "hi."  Please enjoy! 😜

Even the morning eggs were making a silly face!

Beach day at school

She was not in a good mood at this moment in time - made her let me take a pic anyway...

She and her teammates received their team visors for 7th grade softball.  They were ALL wearing them like this at the parent meeting.

Until next time!!!

February Faves

Scroll on down to see what we were up to in February...

Cadence and her besties went to the middle school Valentine Dance.  They met at our house beforehand to get ready.  They all donned the same skirt and looked so pretty.  They had a great time and then had a slumber party at our house that night.  They're a cute, little group of friends and I'm glad they found each other this school year.

A family that Colin watches on YouTube went out for hibachi dinner - I realized that my kids had never experienced that.  I thought they'd get a kick out of it (and Colin would love the food), so we invited Mom & Dad and spent an evening at House of Japan!  We had a good time and enjoyed Little Ladies Soft Serve for dessert.

One Friday evening, Colin helped me make broccoli cheddar soup.  It turned out sooooo good.  Danny snapped this photo of Colin - so sweet.

January Jams

January was full of basketball, time spent with friends, and snow!

Before one of the home games, I snuck some shots of Coach Danny warming up with the boys 😊

The Marinellis came over to celebrate a belated Christmas with us.  The kids had fun filming a video for YouTube - it was called Bad Doctors 😂  I love their friendship and how they pick up right where they left off!

This image was a screen shot of one of the outtakes of their video production.  I couldn't help myself - it reminded me of a confessional video they would routinely show on Jersey Shore!

Pup just along for the ride...

Colin got elbowed in the eye by a teammate at basketball practice - he got a pretty good shiner!

Nice foul shot!

We didn't get much show this winter.  The weather has been quite the roller-coaster.  We've seen several weeks where the weather would end up in the 50s or 60s, followed by rain and crazy wind, to then plunge back into frigid temps.  One Sunday we ended up with enough snow to build a snowman.  Cadence and Colin played in the yard earlier in the morning and I watched Colin struggle to build a snowman by himself.  I told the kids I'd go out there once the temps got a little warmer.  We had fun and ended up with a really nice looking snowman!

Scar is 16!

We can't believe it either, but our pup, Scarlet, is 16 years old!  At least!  We had some more close calls and she gave us some good scares this past year, but she keeps on kickin'.  The kids still adore her, and although she's a lot more work these days, we're glad she's still a part of this family.

This year, the kids and I made Scarlet some homemade dog treats out of oatmeal, peanut butter, and banana.  She scarfed down her treat in no time and enjoyed it!

The kids were goofing around one day and put some shades on her.

Danny sent me this picture while I was at work so I could send it to the vet - she had a weird parasite that she picked up somewhere and it was causing her hair to fall out in spots!  She's always keeping us on our toes!
