Work Trip to Atlanta

In early May, a family emergency for a coworker meant that I got to help oversee a study we were conducting in Marietta, Georgia. I was able to meet up with my Auntie Dianne and my cousins (and their families) while I was there. We had dinner on Monday evening and I got to see Melissa again for breakfast before I left on Friday. It was a long week, but seeing the family I grew up with made my heart so happy.  Love them.

Springtime Oden

I can't believe Oden has been a part of our lives for almost an entire year! We're constantly saying how cute he is and how he's the perfect dog. We feel like we've stolen him from a family, because that is the only reasonable explanation on why we ended up so lucky. We are still on guard when we have visitors -- we have been using a basket muzzle to keep friends and family members safe when they're at our home. We're hoping this will eventually teach Oden that the people we allow in our home are safe and nothing to worry about. Here are some cherished pics from springtime with our Odie boy. Colin is always saying how Oden is such a good model. 😁

This was taken at the end of the school year when Cadence was cleaning out her bookbag. She was making balls of paper and tossing him so he'd chase them.

The kids are constantly taking goofy pictures of Oden

One of his favorite pastimes -- sitting on his "spot" on the couch with his head over the back so he can see all the action in the kitchen.

Couldn't pass up this photo op

Just want to squish that face!

Easter '25

We had a nice Easter weekend. It was laid back and low key, just how we like it. Gina visited her parents in Dayton, but Mike and Tuxedo came over for the day. Cousin Dan was also able to spend some time with us.

I couldn't believe how pretty the hibiscus looked in April. It was still in the basement since it was chilly outside, but already blooming!

I love that the kids are still excited for Easter morning. They love seeing what's in their Easter baskets (this year's fun add were Warmies stuffed animals) and then they quickly start hunting for eggs!

It was Oden's first Easter with us!

It's always a mad dash to find the most eggs!

There was some yummy candy in the eggs this year

We spent the afternoon at mom & dad's house. We visited with the ducklings, too! There are a total of 6 and they arrived via mail when they were 2 days old! There are 2 American Pekin (Rosemary "Rosie" & Daisy), 2 Khaki Campbells (Penelope "Penny" & Stella), and 2 Chocolate Runners (Josie & Daphne). It was a collaborative effort to come up with their names! They were quite the chore when they were kept in the basement until they had feathers and it was warmer outside.

Some of the gang hanging out! We even took Tuxedo and Oden out for a walk together and they both did great! 💗
