Happy Holidays!

I've really put off updating the blog for a few weeks. Christmas has come and gone, and even though we were busy celebrating, we've been having a lot of fun!

We went to Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium with "Mima" and Poppa on one of the coldest nights we've had so far. It was packed, but we got to see a lot of the zoo!

Poppa showing Cadence some kind of creepy lizard.

Since the line to see Santa was freakishly long at the zoo, we stopped by the mall at Polaris. Surprisingly there wasn't a single person in line. Of course Cadence wanted NOTHING to do with Santa! Here she is sitting on Rudolph while we hoped she would warm up to him. Oh well, maybe next year!

The stinker even got a candycane!

And a wicked huge Mickey!

Beating up Mickey

She is OBSESSED with her Elmo jammies from Auntie Dianne; sometimes she hates to take them off to go to daycare! Cadence sends a big "thank you" to the Robertsons!

Cadence has apparently seen us raise our eyebrows at her a time or two.

Oh Christmas Tree...

At the hotel in Hamilton, Danny unplugged the phone so Cadence could carry it around while I was in the shower! What a nut!

She's already a girly-girl...playing with the makeup from her purse from Mamaw & Papaw.

Cadence, Grandpa, & the horse, Max!

Present time!

She LOVES making music!

So cute. Her cousins really love her. And Cadence loves them!

Santa came!

Look at her excited little face! She was so surprised to see all of the toys. It really was a lot of fun this year.

Cadence doesn't really understand what Santa is all about yet. We showed her the cookies he ate and she wanted the leftover cookies and carrots!

Of course we let her eat them!

Daddy caught Mommy & Cadence passed out after all the fun!

I think of all the gifts from Mima and Poppa, she liked the tiny Mickey ornament the most.

In toddler heaven!

We think Cadence has PLENTY of stuffed animals now! Oh wait, Danny forgot a few in her toy bins! You can add at least 8 to the ones you see pictured here.

Such a big girl!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

We can't believe Christmas is right around the corner! Time flies when you're having fun...and working your butt off! We have been busy all around (especially Danny). Danny has had a lot of projects going on at work, all during the typical month-end chores. We've somehow managed to get most of our Christmas shopping done. We're really excited for Christmas this year; it should be a lot of fun with our little Peanut! I'm psyched to see her reaction to the gifts from Santa.

Cadence had her 18 month well check-up today and we learned that she is 32.25 inches tall and 22 lbs, 2 oz. The doctor said she'd rather have a tall, skinny baby anyday! Cadence did SO well at the appointment. She just sat quietly and looked at a little book while the doctor poked and prodded. The only thing she didn't want done was have her mouth/teeth checked. She would not let the doctor pry her mouth open! The doctor had her sit on my mom's lap while she held her arms down; she ended up gagging! She loved her Tweety Bird sticker she got and had a lot of fun with the train set in the waiting room. It was weird to see her walking down the hallway; the last time we were there, she couldn't even walk on her own! It's also so strange to think that this time last year we just had her ears pierced and she was finally able to sit up on her own.

We're a little bummed because Cadence moves into the 18-24 month room at daycare next week. We really like the teachers she has now (and so does she) so it will be an adjustment. We were told that they think she is ready; she is the leader of the class! This weekend she started singing the B-I-B-L-E song (she sings it like B-I-B-I-B that book me...). I had to look it up on YouTube so I could sing along! She also learned about outer space last week so she can say, 'star' and has to look for the moon anytime we go outside. We're trying to get her used to Santa and she'll now say "ho, ho, ho" and enjoys hanging her ornament on her Advent Calendar from Nanny. We'll have to see how she does with Santa this year!

Oh, and I almost forgot...we took Cadence's Gerber pacifiers away. We were starting to think that they were affecting her teeth. So she now has some pacifiers that are more orthodontically accepted and she doesn't like them as much. Hopefully she'll ween herself off of them all by herself! She's actually been doing surprisingly well!

So cute!

Helping Mommy & Daddy decorate the tree. She kind of just plopped the ornaments wherever! She's been a really good girl and hasn't messed with the tree!

Thanks, Bettie and George for the Hallmark gifts each year! Cadence is OBSESSED!

Love it.

Thinks she's drinking Daddy's empty cup of McCafe coffee ;)

Goofing around

She fell asleep while watching the Thanksgiving Day parade. I thought I could wake her up so she could eat lunch and take a nap. Mission = failed.

A common part of our laundry routine. If she wants to get pushed around, she says, "weeeee!"
