Easter 2013

Easter was fun this year, especially because Cadence understood a little more about what was going on.  She learned about Easter at daycare too.  The Saturday before Easter, Danny and I tried to put together an Easter Egg Hunt for the neighborhood.  In the past, more members of the HOA have been involved, but this year, it was mainly just us.  We stuffed eggs for a total of about 3 hours...all for a 30 second egg hunt!  In hindsight, we would've done things a little differently, but live and learn.  Cadence was upset because I don't think we gave her enough direction.  By the time she figured out what was going on, all the eggs were claimed!  She got 2 eggs in her basket.  We were able to calm her down by explaining that the Easter Bunny would be bringing her some eggs that she could keep all to herself!

Cadence did very well dyeing Easter Eggs this year.  We didn't attempt anything fancy.  She was content letting each egg have its own cup.  Last year she was very territorial over any of the cups with her eggs.  She got a kick out of the white crayon & drawing letters on the eggs.

She seriously is a nut.

Easter morning...she was a little blinded by the flash

She did awesome finding the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid!  And the few that she didn't find, Scarlet did!

Ready for church!

We enjoyed brunch with my parents and brother at j. Liu after church.  We had a nice time...thanks, Mom and Dad!  That night, Mom said that there was a doctor (Dr. Mike as Cadence called him) who said he would give the baby a photo shoot.  We got to the hospital when his shift was starting.  The baby was being a little difficult, but he was able to get us one good shot of the baby's profile.  :)  Can't wait to meet this little munchkin!
Mom was able to let us hear the heartbeat.  It was in the 120s as far as beats per minute go.  At the last doctors appointment, it was around 153 - probably because the baby was moving a lot!
32 weeks!  Or as I call it, "Large and In Charge!"  Check out Miss Sassypants!  And yes, the sign says the baby is the size of a jicama - and yes, I had to look up what a jicama was...it's like a Mexican turnip, I guess???

I had to share one of Danny's gifts for his 30th birthday.  I got the idea from my boss who received something similar for the Detroit Tigers from his mom.  She had found it in a shop in Michigan.  I found some online for Ohio State, but wasn't impressed with the pictures.  I snuck out of work a little early on a couple Fridays and was able to get some pictures that mean something to Danny and me.  Some letters are from buildings where we had classes or they're more abstract (ex: the "A" is from where 2 sidewalks come together at the Oval).  I'm happy with the way it turned out!

The weather is finally warming up in Central Ohio...woo hoo!  It was a little windy this weekend, but we were able to play outside.  Cadence had a blast!  Here's a classic "pressing her face against the window" shot.

Cadence was playing with her easel yesterday while I was in the kitchen.  I asked her if she had spelled her name yet and she replied, "Not yet!"  I told her she needed to find a "C", and an "A"...and she replied, "I already did!"  This is what she was able to pull off...all by herself.  I love that the "O" is her "D" and that the "E" is backwards...so cute.

Here are 3 pictures from this year's school pictures.  I am in love with them!  She has gotten so big...where has the time gone?!
