Danny and I often say to each other that we can't believe we're going to have 2 kids in 2 short months. We know that these last 2 months are going to fly by. We've gotten Cadence's big girl room all set up and we have made several meals that we've been able to freeze to enjoy later when we hardly have time to breathe. We've made a list of things that we need to buy for when the new baby arrives...I think all we can cross off the list at this point is diapers. I need to go through all of Cadence's newborn clothes and wash what can be used again for baby #2!
We've been watching a lot of the NCAA Tournament and are really excited to see how well the Buckeyes do this year. Sweet 16 this weekend! We've been pretty busy though, and neither one of us filled out a bracket this year! I just didn't want to lose money again...Danny just didn't have the time! We had a good time with St. Patrick's Day and are looking forward to Easter. Cadence has already said that she wants the Easter Bunny to bring her a Sally car from the movie, Cars. The movie is her new obsession. We'll see what the Easter Bunny can pull off!
In school, Cadence is now learning about the letter "X"; they've almost made it all the way through the alphabet! We're impressed with how much Cadence knows. Earlier today, she wrote the letters, "E", "T", "A", and "H". Her favorite letter is the letter "E"; probably because she's obsessed with elephants. She also loves the letter "C". We still have to help her write it the correct way; she likes to write it backwards. She's really into singing songs and when we put her to bed, she'll sing songs (most are made up) for at least a half hour before she falls asleep. It's really cute. She still loves watching Little Einsteins on Disney Jr. and requests Dora a lot as well. She's so much fun!
This is the morning wake up routine. Scarlet HAS to visit her in bed before she gets up.
We found the idea to use Ikea spice racks as book shelves on Pinterest. We are lucky enough to have family members who live near the Ikea near Cincy. Thanks to Mamaw and Aunt Annie who picked up 4 for Cadence's room. They are seriously a hot commodity these days! It took us a while to paint them, but we finally got them finished and we're really happy with the way they turned out!
I'm happy with the outcome of Cadence's big girl room. It's a little cluttered because we had to cram all of her toys in there, but I think it's really cute!
The week before St. Patrick's Day, Cadence got an awful stomach bug. She was sick for just about 5 days! It totally wiped her out. If she wasn't vomiting, this is what she looked like. Poor thing. We're so glad she's back to her spunky self!
She was feeling better by the time St. Patrick's Day rolled around. She enjoyed a bowl (or should I say 3) of Lucky Charms.
Enjoying her Shamrock Shake after dinner. They were yummy!
Our 29 week picture! We would've taken the picture at 28 weeks, but I think Cadence would've been too weak to help hold up the sign! She was so sick! Yeah, I know what you're thinking...I can't believe I'm THAT big either! I'm scared to see what I'll look like when the end of May rolls around!
On March 5, we had our 2nd ultrasound. The baby looked great. I didn't get any interesting pictures to share, though. The doctor made sure that the baby's head was a good size, we saw several different organs, and the baby looks like it has big hands! At the time, the doctor estimated that the baby is a little over 2 pounds.
And we'll conclude this post with a funny dog pic! We found Scarlet curled up on Cadence's chair!
