Fall is Here

Hmm, so what is new?  I really need to start jotting things down so that I can remember them when I eventually get around to updating this thing!

Cadence is doing great.  She has pretty much mastered potty training.  We have an occasional accident and once in a while wakes up wet, but she has done really well!  We still have a lot of diapers that fit, so she still wears a diaper at night.  She usually gets upset when it comes time to put it on.  She yells, "No diapers!  I don't like diapers!  Diapers are for babies!"  Tonight I told her we could pretend her diaper was a Pull-Up & she was OK with it.  I'll take it.

It's been kind of rainy and chilly here lately and yesterday Danny said that Cadence said, "Rain, are you kidding me?"

She has warmed up to her new classroom at daycare.  She likes her teachers and has made a lot of friends.  She's very much so in a routine and has to start her day with a blueberry pancake.  She usually wolfs it down before she can play.  At pick up, she always requests to sit on the carousel horse and will sometimes ask to see the fishtank before we leave.

We've had a lot of fun recently and look forward to more good times.  We went to the 106th annual Circleville Pumpkin Show today and plan to visit the Columbus Zoo, so hopefully the next blog post won't be too far from now!

Here's our nut enjoying a jumbo marshmallow after dinner.  I taught her how to play "chubby bunny."  She's pretty good at it. ;)

The weekend before my birthday we went to Lynd's Fruit Farm to go apple picking with the fam.  They have lots to do there: a market, hay ride, lots of food, and of course, apples!
(Disclaimer: it was very sunny that day, so all following pictures will feature sunglasses)

She wasn't a huge fan at first.  She was freaked out by the dew covered grass and wasn't into crawling under the low branches.

She finally came around and warmed up to the whole process.

I'm going to try to remember to do this every year!

So this year, she was not having the giant chair...fail.

Look how calm and happy she was last year!

Hay ride

The pumpkin patch wasn't open yet for picking, but we checked it out anyway.

She was a big help peeling apples!

Proud of her Lego tower.

Saw this idea on Kraft's website...cool for Halloween, huh?  She ate 'em up!

Last weekend we visited Danny's family.  Emilee's 7th grade strings class was invited to play in a concert with a Beatles cover band, the Newbees.  Cadence and her younger cousins loved the music and had a blast.  We had a hard time keeping them out of the aisles...they kept wanting to dance!  I guess you could say it was Cadence's first concert!
