Big Walnut Little League Opening Night

This summer, Colin participated in the inaugural season of Little League Baseball at Big Walnut.  There were 5 baseball teams made up of 9, 10, 11, and 12 year olds.  It was a lot of fun mixing things up and watching the boys play against each other (when they're used to being on the same travel team).  Colin's team wore green jerseys and were sponsored by Pulse Bookkeeping.  The only kid from Colin's travel team that was on his little league team was Bowen Ryan.  Kids that Colin had played with before, who were also on the team were: Brantley Gesacion, Eli Brockman, Cash Albert, and Lincoln Haught.  It made for an extra busy late spring/early summer season, but it was worth it.  The energy on the field was just different with little league.  The boys were more relaxed and poked fun at each other.  It was as if there was less at stake.  Of course the wanted to win, but there were far less tears when things didn't go their way.  Keep scrolling to see some pictures from opening night!

Colin's Pre-Birthday

With a busy baseball schedule and temps in May that create a chilly pool, we decided to have a "pre-birthday" celebration for Colin this year.  He wanted to have a pool party, but we told him we could do that later in the year, say, July, after baseball died down and the weather was warmer.

One Saturday afternoon in early May, we picked up Colin's buddy, Adrian, and headed to Dublin to have some fun at Pins and 16-Bit.  While we waited for our duckpin bowling, we played plenty of pinball and arcade games.

Danny and I enjoyed some beer while the boys got slushies.

We grabbed some grub and then did some bowling!  It was a lot of fun and everyone was pretty competitive.

We wrapped up the night with some Five Guys - it was a fun day!

More Baseball & Softball

Here ae some baseball and softball pictures from the end of April and beginning of May!

Colin and the 10u Generals won their tournament in Delaware!  I think it got cut short due to bad weather, but hey, we'll take the hardware!

Cadence and the 7th grade girls had practice where they could use anything but a bat and a glove - they got pretty creative!

When Danny's friend, Todd, learned that we had to say goodbye to Scarlet, he and his family sent such a thoughtful gift to our family.  He thought it would be a fun distraction to make some soft pretzels from scratch.  We had a good time making them as a family and they tasted pretty good, too!

I'll give you 3 guesses as to who made this...
It wasn't Colin...
It wasn't Danny...
And it wasn't me... 😶

Spring is in Bloom

We tried really hard to take Cadence's annual picture with the pretty blooming tree on the Square.  They trimmed the tree limbs, so she couldn't get close to any of the flowers.  This is the best we got - but I still think they turned out pretty!

LAX

Colin had a great LAX season - even though they combined the boys to make one, large 3rd/4th team, Colin had many assists and goals out on the field.  It's a lot of fun watching him play!

One of the parents took some great shots during the games

I took this action shot with my phone - pretty cool, huh?

Brace Face No More!!

April 18th was a big day for Cadence - she got her braces off!  I was blown away by how quickly her bite transformed.  She only got her braces on in September, so she barely had them for a half of a year!  You can tell by the following photos, that she was just a little excited for her appointment. 😁

She was cracking me up during her appointment.

Voila!  Beautiful, as always
