I was dreading turning the big, ol' 4-0. Everyone always says it's, "better than the alternative!" And they're right, but getting older is scary. I don't like thinking about what things will be like when I'm older. I don't like thinking about my parents getting older. I don't like the changes my body is going through. Getting older is just not fun, plain and simple.
I'm lucky I have some great people in my life - from my far-away friend who invited me to go on a vacation to celebrate turning 40, to my mom who threw me a party, to my friends and family members who helped make my big day a good day, and even my co-workers. Without all of them, this day wouldn't have been the really nice day that it was.
I walked into my office, the Friday before I turned 40 to this - it was so cute!
Momma came and decorated the house on my actual birthday. Isn't it pretty?! She planned it all and invited my favorite people to help celebrate - Danny and the kids (of course), Mom and Dad, Mike and Gina, Erica, and the Marinellis. We had good food (Giammarco's) and good laughs.
Here's to AT LEAST 40 more!
I'm going to try really hard to embrace getting older and appreciate the good things in life!
