When we got back from spring break, Colin had his first lacrosse game. It was pretty chilly out, but the boys looked great on the field. They won both of their games!
Colin has figured out the game and he's super analytical when it comes to playing. He waits for just the right moment to strike. He's played midfield ("midi"), attack, and goalie this season. We're really proud of his progress. Even though he does so well with lacrosse, it's still his least favorite sport. I'm not sure if it's because it's still pretty new to him, or if he doesn't know all of the kids as well as he does his basketball and baseball teammates, or what. We'll see what next season holds!
If it's nice outside, Cadence still likes to take a stroll around the Sunbury Square after her weekly piano lesson. I'm glad we have that little tradition. The trees were finally starting to bloom in early April, so we took advantage of the pretty backdrop.
I also remembered to take a drive down Cambridge Avenue near the office. I LOVE the trees in bloom in the early spring.
Danny requested monkey bread for his birthday "cake" this year. I used my new phone to snap a picture - didn't it come out so pretty! The kids and I had fun making it. We also made a dipping sauce with powdered sugar to go with it. It tasted great!
Colin's first baseball game of the season was on April 12th - you can tell by the mud splatters on his socks that the field was pretty saturated! We showed up to his game just in time - he had lacrosse practice right before his game. He sat out the first couple of innings just in case lacrosse ran late. He let me take his picture. They played the local BBC boys and won, 12-10!
Colin has been doing an awesome job pitching. He's pretty accurate and can get that ball moving across the plate at a high speed! Here are some pictures of Danny warming him up before the inning started.
Unfortunately the weather cut their first tournament short - but based on their record from the first day two days of games, they learned that they came in second place! Danny made a special trip to pick up their rings and we had some ice cream at one of the elementary schools to celebrate. It's going to be fun watching these boys take on their first season of kid pitch baseball this season.
