Both of the kids played fall ball this year. Cadence played with majority of the girls from her summer team, and Colin played with a lot of the same boys, but Colin played kid pitch for the first time! For Colin, majority of the season was practicing - they had practice twice a week and then boys that wanted to pitch or catch had a separate practice on Fridays. They had a handful of games, which took some getting used to for everyone, but they did great! Each boy that wanted to pitch got the opportunity for a single inning. Colin really excelled at pitcher and struck out many kids!
While waiting for the bus, he had to show me all of the different pitches he knew 😁
The boys made this during one of Cadence's games - I think they named him Bob. He was made out of pine needles. 😂
Colin also tried his hand at catching! Being catcher is an important role with kid pitch - you have to stop the ball and be quick! Colin had fun as catcher as well.
Cadence normally played center field, but she had the opportunity to play first base also! She loved it and I hope she gets to play that new position more often come springtime.
Jessica texted this picture to me after I left one of Colin's games to go to Cadence's game. They were 2 of her favorite boys - one she loved to watch and play with during Colin's games and one she had a crush on...
She claims she doesn't have a crush on Wes anymore...we'll see if that chances once he starts helping coach the boys again...
