Sheltering-in-place has required quite an adjustment. We have a new routine. We've had to cancel A LOT of plans. We're all at home - ALL THE TIME. It started out that schools would close and maybe open back up on May 1. Then we received the order that we would shelter-in-place and work from home if you're a non-essential employee. Danny set up his office in the basement. It works out well since he has a lot of conference calls. The kids have laptops and a workspace in the dining room, and I have my desk in the office. Our days start a little later than they used to - I think we've all been getting a little more sleep. So I guess there are some positives to all of this. Motivating the kids to do their school work has been a little bit of a challenge, but we're getting through it. Colin needs more hand-holding than Cadence does. Colin continues to blow my mind with his math skills and his hand writing is superb! Cadence has had to complete a few projects and her creativity is through the roof! I'm always surprised with the ideas she comes up with. We've got 1 more week of schoolwork (unless that changes) - we can do it!
Hair - we delayed Danny and Colin's haircuts for a while since there wasn't any rush to get it done. Here's a pic of Colin after he woke up - it reminded me of Kevin's hair on Home Alone when he wakes up and finds his family left him.
Cadence and I decided to use a couple face masks that she got for Christmas. They're creepy, huh?!
Cadence used Bunchems to create a couple of characters from one of her favorite TV shows!
That sneaky leprechaun visited us for St. Patrick's Day!
I came home from work to find Scarlet donned with one of the kid's shamrock necklaces.
We have some beautiful sunrises around here.
Our favorite restaurant, Northstar Cafe, was promoting take out brunch one of the first weekends of being quarantined. It's not a difficult task to support this restaurant, so we headed to Westerville for the morning! We grabbed our food and ate in the car at a nearby park. It was still too chilly to eat outside at a picnic table. I could seriously eat that breakfast EVERY DAY.
We took a little stroll in Westerville after we ate.
That afternoon, we took a hike at Highbanks. It was pretty crowded, but we had a great time!
That night, the kids took a bath in the Jacuzzi tub - they're always a little nutty in there.
We were determined to finish our first puzzle during the stay-in-place order...
I think we were up until almost 11:00 at night, but we finished!! 500 pieces - it was a tricky one!
I think the puzzle was a gift to Cadence from Uncle Mike. It's pretty! Colin did most of the work!
We have enjoyed some al fresco lunches while being home. This picture is from March 25 - one of those days when high 50s/low 60s feels really good in the sun!
