Baby, It's Cold Outside

January can be summed up by a lot of cold weather and not a lot of school!  Between New Year's and Presidents' Day and freezing temperatures, the kids MIGHT have had a couple of weeks where they went to school 5 consecutive days.  With the cold weather, we do our best to keep ourselves entertained!

Danny took Presidents' Day off from work and treated the kids to Cracker Barrel for breakfast.  They LOVE that place.  1) They have a huge menu, so there's a good chance they'll be able to order something they like, and 2) Who can pass up the gift shop?!  Danny sent me this picture while I was at work.  I had some serious FOMO, but at least they had fun.

We all attended the annual STEM night at school.  We started with the peg boards...

They had a contest to see whose paper airplane would go the farthest.

The 4th grade robot club made robots that the kids could play with.

Hours later, our carnations began to change color from one of the experiments we conducted.

The kids also celebrated 100 days of school - 1st through 4th grade dressed up like 100 year old people!

Kindergarten is on their own schedule since they started after the rest of the kids, but they had their own fun.  They created pictures of what they'll look like at 100 years old.

And we did a little project at home with macaroni.

And I think the kids practiced doing 100 exercises in the gym.

The kids are still enjoying basketball and cheer.  Here are a couple of pictures my dad snapped at one of Colin's games.

Danny was outside and found some huge icicles that he shared with the kids!

Danny brought home a fake gold chain from something they did at work.  The kids put it on Scarlet, and well, here you go...

She's a good sport.

The end of January brought some frigid temperatures, like, we're talking way below zero with the windchill.  The kids got 3 days off from school!  Danny took day 1...

Rapper?  Bandit?

Colin drew a picture of his iTouch.  Apparently he loves Maroon 5's song, Feelings.

Impressive, right?

I took day 2.  On very cold days, this dog can still find the sun!

Some sort of game they were playing.  I dunno, reminds me of Bird Box, no?

"We have drinks from Hawaii!"  They used their apple slices as a drink garnish.

They're obsessed with marshmallows.  And since they sent me the picture above while I was at work, we sent Danny this picture.  I didn't include the video (because it is long and probably wouldn't load to this site), but the kids thought it would be funny to coordinate their outfits that day, so they both dressed in black. Later, we made homemade pizza with our own dough and caught it on video as if we were on The Food Network.

Mom took day 3 and sent these cute pictures...
