School Fall Festival

We were able to attend Cadence's school's Second Annual Fall Festival this year.  It was really cute.  They had music, popcorn and apple cider, face-painting by the local high school art club, pumpkin decorating, and other crafts.  The kids had a good time.  It's so funny watching Cadence get excited about seeing her friends at school functions -- it's like they didn't just see each other 2 hours prior to the event!

In her STEM class, Cadence spent a few weeks creating an item for the Cardboard Showcase Challenge.  She made a basketball "hoop" with a back board and a ball.  There was even a little sign she made to go with it.  They displayed all of the cardboard creations from all of the students around the gym during the festival for everyone to check out.

After the festival, we tried Oak Hill Barbecue for the first time.  It was pretty good -- I think if we went again, I'd order something else, though.  We spoke to the owner, Fat Man, for a while and the kids goofed around while we waited for our food.
