Seeing that a certain four-legged friend of ours didn't succeed in eating all of the candy-filled eggs left behind by the Easter Bunny, Easter was a little less eventful this year...much to our relief! Danny and I learned our lesson last year and she was kept under a watchful eye. Don't worry, she did attempt to eat some on her way outside that morning...she's one determined pup!
Warm Spring weather and Easter brought with them some fun things for us to do during past few weeks. Read on and enjoy the update on the Schuerman Family!
Mom sent a sweet picture of Colin to us while we were at work one Friday
Mom spoiled the kids with goodies brought from drug reps at work. The frosting from the Cheryl's cookie was more like paint!
Cadence, the goofball
Colin found a blue colored pencil while I wasn't looking...I wonder if it tasted good?!
Cadence the other day before school, "Take my picture and send it to Uncle Mike!" She had her princess shoes on and wanted to show off :)
Colin likes stickers...
...a lot!
He's a busy boy!
Danny was able to attend Cadence's Easter party at school. There were tons of treats during snack time followed by an Easter egg hunt!
Ms. Barr, Cadence's pre-K teacher, recently moved to Tennessee to pursue furthering her education. We were bummed to see her go! She has promised to attend the kids' "graduation" in May; I know Cadence will be excited to see her. She gave Cadence a cute poem describing her using the letters of her name.
The kids (and the adults) had fun dyeing Easter eggs. Colin didn't quite understand the concept and got a little upset when we tried to intervene. Cadence got creative with her eggs.
The kids were excited by the Easter baskets and eggs left by the Easter Bunny! It was so cute to see their reactions. Cadence could see some of the eggs by peeking downstairs before they were allowed to start "hunting". She did a good job helping Colin find some of the eggs. She kept yelling, "This is awesome!" while Colin was saying, "Whoa!"
So, I tried really hard to get a cute "staged" Easter photo of the kids...Cadence was all about it, Colin was not. I think he wanted his pacifier (which we're trying to limit him using) and it was all downhill from there.
Notice Elsa "planking" in the background
Poor little guy was so mad at me!
They love each other so much...I hope that never changes!
So, our roomies moved out this weekend. Even though they'll be right next door, it will still be quite an adjustment. If you think about it, since August of 2013, we've lived under one roof for 18 of the past 21 months! That's practically Colin's entire life! Part of the time, we were living with my parents while we searched for a home and had renovations completed; part of the time my parents were living with us while they had their home built next door! A lot of people I know have said, "Oh, I could never do that!" or "I could never live with my parents!" To us, it was easy! We enjoy the company of my parents and we don't hold grudges! My parents also spoiled us -- mom cooked us dinner practically every night, dad was like our live-in Bob Vila and helped with stuff around the house, the household chores were a lot easier to tackle...the list goes on. I know the kids enjoyed having them around, and so did we! We are lucky that they'll be literally "a stone's throw" from our house.
