Colin and his 5th grade classmates went on a fieldtrip to BizTown right before spring break. BizTown is described online as combining "in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world." Colin got to experience being the CEO of Huntington Bank. A mom of a former basketball teammate (who happened to be Cadence's 5th grade teacher) was a chaperone on the trip and shared some photos that she took!
I was told that the "banking boys" won the Quality Business Award for doing such a great job!
