Cadence had another great year of cross country. I am so proud of her. I don't know how she does it. Two miles might not sound difficult to run, but those courses are tough! She tried really hard to beat her personal best from last year, but couldn't quite do it - she got SUPER close, though! She was pretty consistent, even with battling an injury toward the end of the season. She also made a new friend, Grace. As much as I hope she continues competing in cross country, I don't think she'll run in high school. Their races are 5k and I'm not sure she likes the sport enough to have that type of dedication. We shall see what next year brings!
First home meet vs Olentangy Orange

Time - 19:54
Away meet vs Dublin Grizzel
9/12/23
Time - 19:06
Newark Invitational
9/16/23
Time - 17:33
I don't have any pictures from the meet on September 19th vs Blendon - She got her best time of the season - 17:32!
Tiger Invitational in Pickerington
9/23/23
Time - 19:47
This was RIGHT before she fell and hurt her ankle and knee. When I saw that she had fallen, I just wanted to swoop her up and give her a big, ol' hug. She kept on and limped her way to the finish line. She was a trooper and finished under 20 minutes even with an injury.
Cadence did not race at the meet at Berkshire on September 26th so she had time to rest her ankle/foot and prepare for the invitational that weekend.
Erin Nance Invitational at London Country Club
9/30/23
Time - 18:04
She was nervous about re-injuring her ankle, but stayed consistent.
There was an emu (or ostrich?) near the course!
Les Eisenhart Invitational in Worthington
10/7/23
Time - 17:33
IT WAS COLD
I grabbed this photo from a Facebook post where someone posted the pictures they took from the race.
Macie and Grace with Cadence. I'm thankful that she made some great friends while having fun and doing something good for her health!
