Danny requested that we not make a big fuss over his 40th birthday - I get it, I did the same. However, I couldn't let the big day pass without making a little noise. I woke up early (good thing Danny is a heavy sleeper) to put up a few decorations in the kitchen. I reached out to his friends a week in advance and asked them to call/send an email or text/stop by to help celebrate. I think one of his buddies blew my cover, but it was fun nonetheless, and it was nice to see his friends show up for his birthday. I worked from home and the kids didn't have school (Monday after Easter), so we had brunch at Northstar Cafe and brought cookies home to have that night (instead of cake). It was a fun, quiet day of celebrating our favorite guy.
