Concrete Jungle Where Dreams are Made Of - Day Two

Day two started out with some bagels from a local shop - Danny went and picked them up and we ate in the hotel.  They were huge!  And one was tie-dyed!  They were really good with the cream cheese.

That morning we thought we'd take a stroll down to Rockefeller Plaza.  On the walk, we heard a fountain and found this!  So cool!

It was September 11th, 2021 - exactly 20 years after the terrorist attacks.  It was surreal being down there.  It was pretty emotional too - we saw this firetruck with all of the names of the 343 fallen firefighters.

Firefighters were also raising a beautiful flag

I love how this picture turned out

St. Patrick's Cathedral was about to have a special mass

We made our way to Rockefeller Plaza

We hit up the MLB store and FAO Schwarz - we felt like we were in the movie, Big!

They had some pretty neat candy and merchandise too!

The ice skating rink was under construction.  We'll have to go back during Christmas one year!

We stopped at Magnolia Bakery for some delicious banana pudding and made our way to the LEGO store

Their displays were amazing

The way up to the top of the Empire State Building was like a ride out of Universal Studios.  It far exceeded my expectations!

While at the top, helicopters flew over to Freedom Tower - it was awe inspiring

The buildings literally looked like LEGOs

Next, we rented bikes and rode through the city and made our way to Central Park.  I think this was my favorite part of our trip!  There was plenty of space to ride your bikes - I was a little nervous about that at first!

We tossed the ball around for a while

We also found a ton of Buckeyes at Columbus Circle - we were so surprised!

They were massive!

We made a special trip to Carlo's Bake Shop for some cupcakes!

Back to Times Square!
