The 8u boys team had an incredible season! They won their division with a final record of 34-16. This group of boys was an impressive team at the start of the season, but really blew our minds by the end of the season. They made the plays look effortless and hit balls out of the park! The boys had so many teams telling Danny that they were impressed with our team and admired their camaraderie. It was a special team, for sure, and we're going to miss the three boys that will stay behind to play 8u next season as well.

Coach Joel helped us out a couple of times and picked up Colin from school when he picked up Eli. Colin enjoyed a snack and some fun at Eli's house before the game.
Julie (Charlie's mom) captured some awesome candid shots during the boys' first tournament. Danny was the 3rd base coach.
Colin hit an awesome triple during one of the games.
Father and son doing their special handshake 😁
The handshake after Colin's triple was such a great moment - I'm glad Julie caught it on camera!
And he's OUT!
The Game Changer app was such a great resource this season. We were able to follow along during a game (if we had to miss a game) or if we just lost track of the score while we were at the game. It was also a nice place to find the records of past games. Check out all of those Ws!
The version of the app that Danny has (being a coach) showed a really cool game summary after every game. Colin was elated when he hit his first true (over-the-fence) home run. Danny was able to retrieve the ball so Colin could keep it forever. We got a nice case to keep it in that has a plate with his name, number, and date of his first home run.
We had to delay the start of a game due to bad weather one night. Check out the rainbow that greeted us right before the game started.

Coach Joel had banners made for each player - here's Colin with his banner!
Papaw spent a Saturday with us and got to watch Colin play lacrosse and baseball that day!

Cadence was a big help to the Lastivkas and played with Landon during a lot of the games.
Ryan captured a sweet picture of the the boys consoling Andy after he got out. That's the definition of a great team!

Hanging out in between games during a tournament - they're so goofy.

The boys were runners-up in their last tournament. They played their hearts out and were a LOT of fun to watch!
Danny giving the boys a group hug - tear jerker, for sure!
