May is always a busy month for us - between Mother's Day, end of the school year, and Colin's birthday, there's lots to celebrate! Check it out below!
At the end of the school year, the kids' school hosts a spaghetti dinner along with an art show and book sale. The food is yummy, the hallways are lined with students' artwork, and there are lots of books to choose from (that are BOGO!). Cadence found a piece of her artwork on display - that she happened to be wearing around her neck! Artsonia is a cool app that the school uses - the art teacher posts the kids' artwork for the parents to see. You can also purchase their artwork on jewelry, magnets, mouse pads, canvases, etc. It's really neat!
While we were waiting for the raffle results, Colin made himself comfortable in the gym and started to read his new Dog Man book. So cute.
He really loved that book!
For most of the school year, Colin's class had a student teacher. As you can tell, they really loved her! They had a special day with her on her last day.
Yep, there's Colin - in the middle of it all...
Colin's teacher posted a picture of Colin and the periscope he made in school.
During Eagle YOUniversity one Friday, Cadence and her friends wrote and recorded a play - she was so into it!
Her class also had a vocabulary parade - her word was cheerful, so she dressed up as a cheerleader!
I thought this was really cool - we've talked about word clouds at work before. They're used to visually represent a collection of words. The words that are bigger show which words were more important or mentioned most often. Colin's class did an assignment called Caring Friends. It was made from the kind words of classmates on an app called ABCya. He must be really good at gaga ball!
Cadence totally rocked at her spring recital - the theme was 70s Roadshow and she played "Reelin' in the Years". We are so proud of her!

Colin had a blast with baseball this spring. His throwing has improved a lot and he's been doing great at batting as well!
Cadence always found a buddy at the ballpark - either friends from school or friends from cheer!
We took the kids down to campus one weekend for an Ohio State baseball game. Ohio State didn't do so well, but we had a great time anyway!
The kids were both given foul balls by people at the game! Too sweet!
While Cadence was at one of her last piano lessons, Colin and I took a walk and he showed me that he can now blow a bubble!
Cadence likes to take a stroll around the Sunbury Square after her piano lessons. She was pumped that they were advertising the Farmer's Market - she couldn't wait to get out there and sell her Buckeye goodies.
Colin was sick during Eagle YOUniversity - he was supposed to ice a cake - so we did it at home instead!
The kids on the swings with their eagle wings on - they were "flying"
When Scarlet is itchy in the spring due to allergies, she does all sorts of weird stuff
And just like that, our youngest is 6 years old! Colin was excited about celebrating his birthday on the last day of school. He brought in popcorn and Little Debbie snacks to share with the class while they watched Despicable Me 3. He ended the day with his favorite - Grandma's chicken and noodles for dinner. He's such an awesome kid. He really has grown this past year - in more ways than one! Yes, he has gotten much taller, but he has also matured a ton, and is so good at reading and writing now. I'm excited to see what 1st grade brings!
Unfortunately, it rained right before the kids got on the bus, so he (or the kids on the bus) didn't get to see the chalk message! Bummer!
