I feel like we just celebrated 4th of July 2017! Keep reading to find out how we celebrated this year!
Danny and I were both able to leave work early on the 3rd - we went swimming with the kids until a storm rolled through, and then made some festive window clings. We made the same thing a few years ago and the kids have asked to do it again ---> July 4th 2015

This Independence day was HOT!! 🔥 We found some shade for the Sunbury parade.
After the parade, we headed down to the 'Square to check out what they had going on. They had food trucks (we got some Kona Ice), free games, stuff for sale, and a hot dog eating contest.
Colin didn't dunk her, but he had fun trying!
We got to swim in the pool one last time this season - after we had another storm roll through and cut pool time short, Danny started to drain the pool. The guy who would be taking our pool (who happens to work on the crew for the new pool), was going to be taking it down later in the week. The company we're working with had a cancellation, so they moved us up on their schedule. We originally didn't plan on pool install until later in the summer.
After pool time and dinner with Grandma and Poppa, we headed over to Big Walnut High for the Sunbury fireworks. I think we'll sit a little further away next time - we were showered with debris after the finale! We'll also review sparkler safety - Cadence touched the stick after it had burned and burned her fingers. Ouch!
Sunbury put on a great fireworks display - the finale was so good! I think Colin really enjoyed the show; I think Cadence would have had a better time if her fingers weren't hurting her!
The kids are still enjoying their summer at camp and pre-school! Cadence recently went to a local park.

Colin's class has initiated the use of a color behavior chart.
Colin's normally on green or above (we have some yellows here and there) when we pick him up from school. One particular day, we were super proud of him for being on pink!
