Home, Sweet Home

As much fun as Danny and I had on vacation, it's always nice to get back home.  After we got back, we spent some time at home with the kids and getting things done around the house.

While we were out of town, Mom and the kids kept us updated on the rabbit's nest in our back yard.  The bunnies were getting bigger and there were fewer in the nest.  It was down to 2 (so they were either big enough to leave the nest, or something got the others).  That weekend, Danny and I checked the nest with the kids and the remaining bunnies scurried out of the nest.  Cadence kept her eye on one and when Danny had it cornered, Cadence caught it!

Colin snapped some pictures with our camera, too.

I eventually talked the kids into putting the bunny back under the tree where they had found it.  Hopefully the little guy is okay -- Scarlet "played" with it like it was a toy the next day. 😩

While we had the camera out, I had to take some pictures of the pretty flowers in our back yard!

Colin had a fun summer soaking up the last few months in the 3-4 year old class.  He had swim time several days a week and soccer on Wednesdays.  His best buddy was "Joshy".

Several pictures were posted on the app we use for school where Colin had his sunglasses on his head all day!

There was a sweet, little girl in his class that would always give Colin a hug.  I had to coach Colin on how to be sweet in return.  I don't think the feelings she shared were mutual.

Cadence had a great time at summer camp.  She made some new friends and reconnected with others from her pre-k days.  She loved going to the pool this summer.

We also picked a weekend where Cadence had a friend from school come over to play.  Living out in the "boonies" we have to put a little more effort into play dates.  The kids won't be able to ride their bikes or cut through the woods to get to their friends' houses (like we did "back in the day").

We kept Colin out of the girls' hair that day -- I baked with him and Danny built a Brutus out of BRXLS

We made it to the Ohio State Fair this year - Mom and Dad brought the kids down and Danny and I met them after work.  We had fun!  Luckily, after the tragic accident that happened on the opening day of the fair, the kid rides were back up and running on the day we went.

The next day, the kids had their annual well-visit with the doctor.  Since the office is in Westerville, we stopped by the new Northstar location for breakfast!  It was delicious -- as always!  Colin snapped a pretty cute photo of us.

Even our picky eaters enjoyed their breakfast.

One of the kids' favorite things to do now, since Colin's not afraid anymore, is to take a bath in the Jacuzzi tub.  You have to be careful with the amount of bubbles!

Here are a few cute Grandma Friday pictures.  Poor Colin scuffed up his chin pretty badly one day at school!

Watching a storm roll through.

Mom and I took Cadence to Easton to visit the American Girl Doll store.  She had saved her money from her birthday to get her doll's ears pierced and to have her hair styled.  It was a really fun experience.

Cadence working on a word jumble while waiting for lunch -- her Poppa is obsessed with word jumbles!

The girls!

Dad and Danny took Colin fishing while we were gone!
