We've been in the new house for a little over 3 weeks. Boy, has it been a lot of work! And we didn't even do the big projects ourselves! I promise, I will post some pictures of the house and the progress we've made...I just want to get a little more settled in!
My parents have been a big help and have been at the house the past few weekends to lend a hand unpacking and completing some other projects. Since we've been in the house, Dad and Danny have replaced all of the outlets and switches downstairs - the old owners had painted them the color of the walls - we organized the garage, put up mirrors and towel bars in the bathrooms, bought new living room furniture and a kitchen table and chairs, ripped out some landscaping, and put together the office furniture. Each time we take a couple of items off of our to-do list, it seems like we add a few more. This house looks NOTHING like it did when we bought it! It's been fun making the house our own.
Since we moved, Colin has turned 10 months old and has gone from rolling over in both directions to crawling around the house. We can tell he has some top teeth about to pop and he's happy most of the time, but can also be a wee bit cranky! Cadence has become a little sassy thing but is so sweet with her brother. She doesn't really take naps anymore (even though she should - by dinner time she is spent!) and has learned so much at school.
Here's Colin at 9 months
Cadence is Colin's biggest entertainer
Move-in day!
She reminds us all the time that she "loves this house." It's so stinkin' sweet.
Colin in his big-boy high chair!
St. Patrick's Day
Mom got a cute pic of Colin one Friday - he's so adorable!
We were going through some of Cadence's clothes the other day - why not wear a bikini top over your clothes?!
10 months old!
We knew he was close to crawling when he kept doing this...
He did NOT want to nap that day...
I love his curly hair!
I get this face a lot
The crawling in action!
First bath together! Cadence was all about it...Colin wasn't so sure and got irritated!
Scarlet LOVES the sun. On the weekends, she follows the sun as it moves through the house. The other day we joked that our new living room has almost as many windows as our old house did in total!
Cadence has done really well in school. Her new teacher is great and Cadence is always learning something new. She knows the days of the week, the months of the year, and the seasons. Her teacher sent us this picture the other day. Cadence is hanging out with her buddy, Blake. We were told that Blake was pretending to write a book and then read it to Cadence. Precious!
Every morning, Cadence's teacher has the kids sign-in. When they first started, Cadence had to trace the letters of her name...
Now she can write her name in "little" letters all by herself! (Her name is in the lower, right box) We're so proud of her! She also loves doing her homework every week and gets a kick out of picking a prize out of the treasure chest at school.
