So, I think like the rest of the Midwest and Northeast, we are ready for Spring! We've had our fun in the snow...although, the other day, Cadence said she wanted to build a snow man. I don't think the snow is going anywhere anytime soon, so we'll see! Right now, the kids are napping, I'm balancing the checkbook and doing laundry, and Danny's at the house! The contractor was there this morning. A lot has been done, but there's still a lot more to do! When Cadence wakes up from her nap, we're taking her to her first Disney On Ice: Princesses and Heroes. I hope she loves it!
Currently, the little man has a pretty horrible cold. It started out as a cough, and now his nose is running like a faucet. Poor guy...must be pretty tough to drink a bottle and suck a pacifier when he can't breathe! He's got 2 bottom teeth (which makes him look even cuter) and his hair is getting longer! I keep debating on whether or not to take him to get his hair cut. I think he's still a little young for that! He still refuses to roll over. If you put him on his belly, sometimes he'll roll over onto his back. But usually he just whines and gets frustrated and buries his head in the carpet. He has not rolled over from his back to his belly...probably because he hates being on his belly! He will roll onto his side though. He tries to eat everything in sight. I wish he had more teeth, because he really loves food! He'll eat just about any baby food (except peas) and prefers food over his bottle. I'll usually let him taste anything we're eating as long as he can mash it up with his gums. He's still fascinated by his sister and cracks up at her all the time. He thinks it's funny when you blow your nose and his favorite pastime is patty-cake. He just started to splash in the tub, too.
Here he is at 8 months.
He didn't mind the snow at all!
Here was Cadence, about the same age, in the same outfit. Ha, her cheeks were so much chubbier!
Colin's first snow angel!
Cadence freaks out often while playing in the snow. If she gets snow in her gloves, she freaks out. If her socks start to fall into her boots, she freaks out. If it's too sunny and she doesn't have her sunglasses on, she freaks out. She's our little drama queen! Believe it or not, she does have some fun in between all the freaking out, though! Here's Poppa helping Cadence with her boots.
We somehow convinced her to go sledding with us. There's a little hill at the nearby fire station where all of the kids go sledding. She wouldn't go down by herself, so we each took turns with her.
I took her down a steeper part of the hill. We spun around a couple of times and snow flew up in our faces. Yup, you guessed it, Cadence freaked out. I thought it was a blast! :)
Cadence is still a ham. Today I asked her, "Are you sure you're not 5?" Sometimes I forget that she's only 3 years old. She is always surprising us with the stuff she says. She recently got a new teacher at school. We're much happier with her new teacher. We could tell that her old teacher just wasn't into it as much anymore. The new teacher, Miss Whitney, has organized lesson plans each week. They have science experiments and learn about different artists. Cadence has small homework assignments once a week and receives a surprise from the "treasure chest" when she turns it in! Yesterday, she started singing the months of the year and talking about the artists she learned about at school. Through their daycare, she has also started participating in soccer and gymnastics once a week. It's really convenient because the teachers come to their school during the day! Cadence loves to tell us what she learns.
Here is her class. She's way in the back on the right in a striped dress. She tells us all about Coach Chris :)
Here's Cadence with her buddy, Kendall.
